"Ruthie
Antonides" Yearly Award for Service to
Special Needs Adoption
Marci and Jack Williams announced the creation of the "Ruthie Antonides"
award in 2005, to be given to the individual or company that exemplifies
dedication to helping find homes for special needs children who are
without families. The idea was proposed by Jack Williams Endowment for
Wednesday's Child board member Richard Power, to honor Ruthie Antonides,
who devoted hundreds of hours to helping run the Jack Williams Ski Race
for Wednesday's Child at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire since 1985.
Ruthie never asked for anything for herself. Even when ill, Ruthie remained
dedicated to making sure our big fund-raising event went smoothly. The
ski race already has made over $4,500,000.00 for special needs adoption
over the last 21 years.
Nominations for the prestigious award can be made to Wednesday's Child,
PO Box 136, Weston, Ma 02493. Final selection will be made by our board
of directors.
